Our online ordering is safe and secure. Our website and secure payment system uses secure servers and secure payment gateway. Your name, address, and credit card information is encrypted and safe. Our other merchant (card processing) services are provided by Cardservice International, among the largest and best merchant banks today. How do I know when I am ordering on a secure server? Many browsers such as AOL will display a gold lock (closed lock) in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. When a closed gold lock appears, it is secure. Another sure way to know is to look at the URL box at the top of the screen, the box that tells you exactly where you are. For example, right now you are (see top of page) at http://www.summertan.com/security.htm Note: pages such as information pages and catalog pages listing our products are not secure because they don't need to be secure since they are only for viewing. However, once you have chosen an item to purchase, placed the item into your online shopping cart, and then go to "Checkout", you are then transported to a secure server that is encrypted and the new secure connection will begin with: https:// Note that the URL address now begins with "https" - The "s" that you now see is the indicator that you are on a secure server. "http" = not secure As you "checkout" and provide your name, address, credit card number, you will be on a secure and encrypted server until your order is complete. Your information never leaves the secure server. CREDIT CARD SECURITY: as you have read, all online transactions are fully encrypted and safe. Furthermore, we do not keep your credit card and personal information on our computer system making it impossible for "hackers/thieves" to steal your personal information. Other Security Concerns Some Have: Some people don't trust online ordering regardless of how much assurance they are given. To those, here are a few reminders: - If someone steals your credit card and uses it, almost all major credit card companies protect cardholders against theft/fraud. Most do not, but some credit cards have a $50 deductible. Question: How do I know your company is real and will actually send me my products? - As a credit cardholder you have the protection of your credit card bank which acts as your advocate, you are their customer. Any online store has to be able to prove that they shipped your products AND that they were delivered to your address. If you ever order something online and it does not arrive (and assuming you are not getting any cooperation from the company you bought from), then you simply call your credit card bank, tell them what happened, and that you would like to dispute the charge. This is called a "dispute" or "chargeback". The online store then has to prove to your credit card bank that they delivered the goods to your address. Lastly, with a great name like Summer Tan that has been online for almost six years we are obviously a legitimate online store. Question: Why do you use an AOL (America Online) email address (SummerTanSupport@aol.com)? - For some reason we occasionally receive this question. AOL provides us with instant notification of orders and emails via the voice notification "you've got mail". This allows us to know when an order is received or an email question arrives so it can be immediately processed. We've also used it for 7+ years so our regular customers and suppliers have it on file. Lastly, our company is personally managed by its owners, so you can be assured an honest and responsible person is handling your order and your personal information.
Order Online: it's easy, safe & secure. We receive and process your order as soon as you submit it online. This is the fastest and most efficient way to order. You will always review your items and total price before you pay so there are never any surprise charges or fees. Order by Telephone: you may call us during business hours and place your order by phone. Order by Mail: if you prefer to pay by check or money order you may order by mail. Credit Cards: we accept all major credit cards. We also accept "check cards" and "debit cards" - as long as it has a Visa or Mastercard logo on the card, it will process just like a regular credit card. Lastly, No Surprises: if
you've done other online shopping or comparison pricing online you've likely
seen some websites that use the old trick of not listing the product price
and/or the shipping fee. They either want you to call them so their slick sales
staff can talk you into buying, or their hidden shipping fees appear on your
order total $$$ after you have provided your personal info and credit card
number.
All products are in stock - we rarely have 'back-orders'. All "Palm Springs", "Riviera", and "Del Sol" orders are shipped out within 48 hours, Monday through Friday, with US Postal "Priority Mail" or UPS which takes 2-5 days only, regardless of your continental US location. Alaska & Hawaii can take a few days longer. All "Acapulco", "Sentosa Sun", and "Tanmaster" orders are shipped within 48 hours, Monday through Friday, directly from the manufacturer's warehouse in KY with UPS. These are shipped direct from the warehouse due to their weight of 17 pounds. Delivery period is 1-5 business days depending on your distance from KY. These units are shipped in a standard brown cardboard shipping box. Au Courant orders ship within 1 business day with US Postal "Priority Mail" and are delivered in just 2-3 days. SunQuest Canopy orders are shipped within 2-4 business days directly from the manufacturers warehouse in Indianapolis, and delivery takes 1-6 business days depending on your location - distance from Indianapolis. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: At this time we can only accept U.S. and Canadian orders. CANADIAN ORDERS: there is $20 added to orders shipping to Canada. This is for the extra shipping fees and paperwork. We have learned that occasionally the Canadian Gov't will tax it's citizens for incoming shipments. We believe this is the discretion of individual customs agents. Any Canadian taxes or tariffs are the responsibility of the Canadian customer. Hawaii: we no longer ship to Hawaii Alaska: added shipping fees will apply, the amount depends on the product ordered, and the method chosen for shipping. Please review the particular product's info page for details. APO & FPO: $20 is added
for all sunlamps going to APO/FPO addresses. Can I ship my order to another address? Yes, you can ship to your work address or any other address. You can even ship your order as a gift directly to the recipient. Our shopping cart allows you to complete one section with your billing address (this must match what is on file with your credit card bank), and another section is for the shipping (ship to) information. If you have any questions about shipping a gift, give us a call toll free: 1-877-781-1112. What if I am not home to receive the package? If your order is shipped with US Postal Priority Mail, and if it requires a signature, -if you are not home the mailman will leave you a notice, and then your package goes to your local neighborhood post office where you can pick it up at your convenience. Some packages require a signature - others do not. Whether a package requires a signature depends primarily on the value of the package, but other information such as apartment addresses are also a factor. Those products that are shipped with UPS occasionally require a signature - if nobody is home to sign, it is up to the UPS driver's discretion to decide whether it is safe to leave the package or not. If he feels it is not, a notice will be left and you can either schedule another delivery attempt or pick up the package at a local UPS location. SunQuest Canopy deliveries of course require you to be present when the unit is delivered. The shipping/trucking company will always contact you by telephone prior to delivery to schedule the delivery day and time. Safe delivery guarantee: we guarantee all of our products will arrive safely and undamaged. If a sunlamp arrives broken, we will immediately exchange the item for you at our expense. |
